Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has revealed plans to build a new stadium, eyeing an NBA home. But admitted there are disagreements over moving the club out of Stamford Bridge or the complex renovations.

Boehly has revealed that Chelsea’s owners are at odds over the future of Stamford Bridge. Suggesting they need to rethink their approach or part ways. The Hong Kong billionaire appeared to back a new multi-use stadium, similar to that being built by London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Boehly did not confirm whether he was leaning towards redeveloping Stamford Bridge or moving to a new stadium, although he stressed the complexities of building in London. He added that they would also have to take Chelsea fans into consideration.

Asked by Bloomberg about the differences between the two parties, Boehly said: “We have to think long-term about what we are trying to achieve. We have the opportunity to develop a big stadium that we need to complete.”

“I think that’s where we will either agree or we will decide to part ways. What’s been written and said is more drama than reality. “

Pressed on his plans for Stamford Bridge, Boehly said: “Stadium development is definitely a big topic. You’ve seen the NBA moving to Europe, they want stadiums, they want stadiums. “

You know, sports infrastructure. We’ve just been at the forefront of this trend and sports infrastructure is going to be a big thing about it. “

We’ve got 16, 20 years to figure it out. You know, in London it’s so complicated. It’s not like we’re building something in a rural setting. “

We’ve got a lot of supporters who want to make sure we care. Of course the Chelsea fanbase is one of them. In the long term we are going to build something new and we will figure it out.”

While the stadium appears to be a point of contention between the owners. Boehly insists they are united on everything. Including their plans to sign the best young players in the world, with Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Giovanni Guenda – three 17-year-olds they have sign from all over the world.

“If you look at the evolution of the team we see we are all in agreement about what we’re trying to do and what we’re trying to build,” he said. “It’s a young team It’s a team with long-term contracts. “

These are all new things, of course, to achieve these things, it’s obviously because we are aligne. We’re working on a plan that ultimately puts Chelsea where they should be. We are in the top four at the moment, the status quo is good. We learn from each other and we will find a solution, whatever it takes.”

Boehly added that he believes Chelsea are now worth more than £2. £5 billion they paid to buy the club in May 2022. “I would say yes,” the club’s owner said.
